Matthew Harris joined the University in 2026 as Council Member, and Member of the Finance Committee.
Matthew is Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Matthew has extensive finance and strategic planning experience from working in the UK and the US, and previously held senior finance roles in the automotive, water, life science, and construction industries, as well as being a former group strategy and risk director.
Matthew now has a portfolio career including developing and delivering leadership programmes to major organisations, providing business advisory services, and being a university lecturer. Matthew has previous not-for-profit experience as a trustee and treasurer of Autistica, the UK’s leading autism research charity, as a governor for his local primary school, and on the organising committees of local community groups.
Matthew has a BSc (Hons) in Management Science from the University of Warwick and has participated in programmes with the Institute for Management Development, Lausanne, and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
