Ińaki Valcarcel, Geochemistry Technician in the Department of Geography, has won the Professional Services Staff Member of the Year Award, as part of Royal Holloway’s 2025 Education Excellence Awards.

Our undergraduate students nominated Ińaki for his guidance and support with laboratory and field work required for their independent research projects. A nomination read “Ińaki’s friendly and supportive manner creates a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable seeking help and are empowered to do their best work. Ińaki is making a genuine impact on the academic and personal success of those around him”
